Newcastle legend, Alan Shearer has come out to say that either Harry Kane or Erling Haaland could break his Premier League goals record in the future. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, if Kane returns to the EPL in a couple of years, then he might be able to break the record, and if Haaland stays in the EPL, he’ll most likely shatter the record as well.
Alan, however, added that the current Manchester City FFP regulation is the reason why Haaland’s future is still up in the air.
His words, “If Harry Kane was to come back to the Premier League in a couple of years, then he may have a chance of breaking my record, but there’s no doubt that if Haaland stays here for the next five or six years, the way he’s going, then he will absolutely break it.
We’ll have to wait and see though; we don’t know what’s going to happen with Man City and the charges, we don’t know what’s going to happen with Guardiola and his time at the club. They are big questions, not only for the football club and the manager, but also for the players that are at the club too. But, if Haaland stays in the Premier League then absolutely, he’ll break my record.”
WOW.
