Eden Hazard is “waiting” for Spanish giants Real Madrid to make a move and sign him, however, an agreement is not already in place.
That’s according to Belgian football journalist Kristof Terreur.
Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to the Spanish capital since the summer.
The Blues forward is reportedly keen on the move but has also stated his happiness in London, and that he wants to become a Chelsea legend.
There’s just over a year remaining on Hazard’s contract, and it’s possible that Madrid rekindle their interest in the Belgian at the end of the season.
“He has rejected two contract offers so far and says that he doesn’t want to sign right now,” he told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“That means he is waiting for something and that something means just one thing, Real Madrid.
“Real Madrid are still interested as far as I know, but they are still yet to make their move.
“They don’t have a personal agreement with him at this point.
“They don’t have an agreement with Chelsea and they haven’t even made the phone call like they did last summer.”
“When they called last summer, Marina Granovskaia said that he wasn’t for sale and Real respected that.
“But they might come back in again as they need to strengthen their squad after this season and it is easier to get players with just over a year left on a contract.”
Madrid are short on attacking options and haven’t hit the heights they’ve reached in the past few years, this season.
