Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has said that losing 5-2 against Atlético Madrid hurt him deeply. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, however, the result was very much deserved after a bad game, and everyone will now be awaiting his side’s reaction to the heavy defeat.

Alonso added that his players just did not compete enough to win the game, and lots of improvements are needed ahead of the next match.
His words, “It was a bad game. We didn’t play well collectively, with or without the ball. We weren’t at the level we need to be at.
We know we’re in a ‘construction phase,’ we have to take conclusions from what happened and they’ll help us in the future, but there are no excuses. We were lacking a gear. This defeat hurts.
We weren’t fluid with the ball. We weren’t able to win the ball in their half. We couldn’t impose ourselves in the duels … We won’t forget this tough defeat, it hurts us, it hurts the fans, but this is a process. Today we didn’t find the level we’d like, we have to be critical and try to improve.
We didn’t compete enough. You need to compete more at this level, against these opponents … We feel responsible, and now we’ll see what we have to correct.
There are tough days, that’s sport, that’s football. What’s important is how we react.”
WOW.
Real Madrid Club de Fútbol, commonly referred to as Real Madrid, is a Spanish professional football club based in Madrid. The club competes in La Liga, the top tier of Spanish football.
Real Madrid has maintained the white shirt for its home kit throughout the history of the club. There was, however, one season that the shirt and shorts were not both white. It was an initiative undertaken by Juan Padrós in honor of an English team Corinthian F.C., which he had met on one of his trips, one of the most famous teams at the time known for its elegance and sportsmanship.
It was under Florentino Pérez’s first presidency (2000–2006) that Real Madrid started its ambition of becoming the world’s richest professional football club. The club ceded part of its training grounds to the city of Madrid in 2001, and sold the rest to four corporations: Repsol YPF, Mutua Automovilística de Madrid, Sacyr Vallehermoso and OHL.
Hala Madrid is a magazine published quarterly for the Real Madrid club members and the Madridistas Fan Club card holders. The phrase Hala Madrid, meaning “Forward Madrid” or “Go Madrid”, is also the title of the club’s official anthem, which is often sung by the Madridistas (the club’s fans).
