The supplementary election for the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency seat in Taraba State recorded a significant turnout of voters across polling units on Wednesday.
In Jalingo metropolis, all fifteen polling units witnessed enthusiastic voters eager to exercise their franchise, forming queues as early as 7:00 am ahead of the 8:30 am commencement of polling.
Observers noted a peaceful and orderly atmosphere, contrasting with the previous rerun election held on February 3rd, 2024.
Accreditation and voting began simultaneously at 8:30 am under tight security measures.
Barrister Ibrahim Tukur El-Suldi, the state chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC), expressed satisfaction with the turnout, suggesting it could have been higher if the election had been scheduled for a weekend.
Respondents from various political parties also acknowledged the improved turnout compared to the inconclusive rerun election held the previous week.
