Hosts Seychelles have been handed a tough draw for the first ever CAF African Beach Soccer Championship.
The Islanders have been drawn against perennial campaigners Nigeria, Cote d’Ivoire and Egypt in Group A.
Senegal, Morocco, Ghana and Madagascar make up Group B for the championship scheduled for the 14-19 April 2015 at the Roche Caiman Sports Complex in Victoria.
The Indian Ocean Island, hosting their first ever continental championship since the 2001 African U-17 Championship will play the Sand Eagles of Nigeria on the opening day. Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire will battle it out in the other Group A fixture.
In Group B, Senegal will square Morocco whilst Ghana will be up against Madagascar.
The draw was conducted on Sunday, 5 April 2015 by CAF General Secretary, Hicham El Amrani and assisted by CAF Executive Committee member, Ahmad, also president of the Organising Committee for the African Beach Soccer Championship at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
Also in attendance was CAF President Issa Hayatou and members of the Executive Committee as well as officials of the participating teams.
The finalists will qualify to represent Africa at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in July in Portugal.
