The House of Representatives has called on the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, to establish a Civilian Joint Taskforce in Plateau State to address the recurring terrorist attacks in the region.
This resolution was reached following the adoption of a motion by Rep. Ishaya Kalu of the APC representing Plateau State during the plenary session in Abuja on Tuesday.
Rep. Kalu emphasized the urgent need to address the continuous attacks by terrorists in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

He highlighted that many victims of the attacks were currently receiving medical attention in various hospitals within the state, underscoring the severity of the situation.
In honor of those who lost their lives in the attacks, the House observed a minute of silence.
In response to the motion, the House resolved to establish a committee to investigate the root cause of the recurrent terrorist attacks in Mangu, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi, and Riyom local government areas of Plateau State.
Additionally, the House mandated the committees on defence and legislative compliance to ensure compliance with the resolution and provide weekly reports until the security situation in the affected areas is brought under control.
