We all have faced a situation where we need to open our laptops and finish a task without wasting time or have to shut down the PC when winding up the work.

However, at that very moment the Windows device shows that automatic update, which we weren’t expecting.

Unfortunately, we have to wait for the update to take place, which can span through several minutes at a time.

What’s worse is that these updates don’t even let you perform any other action but to stare at the screen; hoping it will install soon.

However, there is a way to disable these automatic updates for as long as you want. And this can be done from the Settings option.

Here’s what you need to do.

    Step 1: Open Settings.

Step 2: Click on ‘Update & Security’ option.

Step 3: Click ‘Windows Update’ tab.

Step 4: Go to ‘Advanced options’.

Step 5: In the ‘Pause updates’ section, click on ‘Select date’ drop down and choose for how long you want to keep your automatic updates disabled.

You can go back to default from the same section or by clicking on ‘Resume update’ option on the ‘Windows Update’ page.

Talking about Windows updates, the latest version seems to have been causing problems for some people and users have been reporting that they are getting the blue screen when they try to open a print dialogue from Office or Notepad or any other program.

Users are getting to see error messages like – “Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart”.

Microsoft is aware that attempts to print anything from a Windows machine post the latest update is blue screening the PC and has listed the bug on Windows 10 support page.

However, they do not have a fix for this at the moment.

“We are presently investigating and will provide an update when more information is available,” the website states.
