Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, governor of the state of Ondo, has announced that he is in good spirits and ready to return to work as soon as his medical team gives him the go-ahead.
The governor, who has been away on medical leave for some time, expressed his gratitude for the people’s outpouring of real affection, prayers, and solidarity while he was away.
In a letter to the Ondo State Assembly, Akeredolu announced that he will be taking a 21-day medical leave of absence abroad, beginning on July 6, 2023 (today).
Akeredolu, through his Commissioner for Information Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, has expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and well wishes for his speedy recovery.
He also thanked the people of the state for continuing to pray for him and send him words of support as he works to get well again.
He claims that the support of the people of Ondo State, in particular, “have not only bolstered his determination to stand on his feet once again, but have also served as a driving force for him to continue serving the people.”
In a similar vein, he thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, his colleagues on the team and in the party, his fellow Governors, and the State House of Assembly members.
“This unprecedented display of genuine affection and solidarity have been a soothing balm and the reinvigorating elixir sustaining the determination, not only for the affable Governor to stand on his feet, but also, and most importantly, for him to continue his service to the people, particularly the good people of Ondo State.
For their help, the governor expresses gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as well as his entire team, the party leaders, his fellow Governors, and the members of the State House of Assembly.
“He’s in good spirits and hopes to join the State’s populace as soon as possible,” his physicians said.
