Beanie Sigel has gone down memory lane. This week, the rap veteran reflected on the now-infamous Roc-A-Fella Records breakup in 2004 and his presence during the split.
In a new interview, Sigel admitted he had a tough time dealing with Roc owners JAY-Z and Dame Dash wanting to part ways with one another.
“At that time, I was in jail,” Sigel said referring to the infamous Dame Dash and JAY-Z Roc-A-Fella breakup in 2004. “Dame used to come visit me while I was locked so my thought process at that time was, if you got Roc-A-Fella and the whole, you’ve got JAY-Z, Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek. You got State Property and if you take JAY out of the equation, who you gonna ride with? So I didn’t want to choose between, at the time, my brothers. I was I could have been there to [get involved].” (Real 92.3).
A few years back, Dame Dash explained the inevitable Roc-A-Fella breakup and said his own personal ventures tore him away from JAY.
This week, Beanie Sigel and his State Property crew announced a new reunion tour is happening.
Last month, Beanie has teased fans about launching a State Property clothing collection.
