Minister of Sports John Owan Enoh claims he did not try to persuade President Bola Tinubu to appoint him to the position.
Enoh was responding to complaints about his lack of experience.
Tinubu appointed him as the 36th Minister of Sports, despite the fact that he has no experience in the field.

However, Enoh maintains that he is quickly catching up, despite his background in farming.
Shortly after taking office, the 57-year-old told Daily Trust, “I didn’t lobby to be sports minister.
“President Bola Tinubu thought I was in good shape, so he gave me the job of constructing sports facilities in Nigeria.
Since I was given this portfolio, I’ve been catching up on sports journalism.
