Legendary country music singer Dolly Parton has shed light on her seven-decade career. She recently shared the vital lessons she has learnt over the years, and fans have been reacting.
Speaking with PEOPLE, the musician said that she has sacrificed a lot to build her legacy in the American music industry.

According to her, looking back at her life journey since her career started, she still wonders how she managed to have a life outside music.
Admitting that she feels less guilty because she never had kids, Dolly stated that she is grateful for the privilege of seeing her musical dreams come true.
“You know, I have just been going so fast my whole life. And I just start thinking, ‘How in the world did I even have a life? How did I even get it done?’
I really realized when I was putting this book together just how much I had sacrificed in my life. I never had children, so at least I didn’t have a guilty feeling. I’m thankful that I got to see my dreams come true,” she said.
Reflecting on her recent health challenges that have led to the postponement of some of her concerts, Parton declared that age is just a number and she still feels like her life has just started.
The 79-year-old concluded by saying that she does not have time to get old, so she won’t be dwelling on such a reality.
“People say, ‘Well, you’re going to be 80 years old.’ Well, so what? Look at all I’ve done in 80 years. I feel like I’m just getting started.
I know that sounds stupid, but unless my health gives way, which right now I seem to be doing fine . . . I think there’s a lot to be said about age. If you allow yourself to get old, you will. I say, ‘I ain’t got time to get old!’ I ain’t got time to dwell on that. That’s not what I’m thinking about,” she added.
