Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that he doesn’t owe anyone a spot in his 2026 World Cup squad. This comes after he was once again asked about Neymar’s prospects, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, even though he knows that Neymar is a crucial player for Brazil, he will not be pressured into certain picks ahead of the tournament.
Ancelotti added that putting Brazil’s hopes of winning the World Cup on the former PSG star is unfair because he currently struggles with injuries.
His words, “For 15 years, Neymar was Brazil’s undisputed star, carrying enormous expectations and responsibility on his own. But no one wins the World Cup alone. Putting all our hopes on him at the moment is difficult because he struggles to even play three games in a row.
He’s a crucial player for Brazil – there’s no one else like Neymar. It’s an exaggeration from a minority who believe he’s neglecting his physical recovery.
