Ex-Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has come out to say he always looked forward to facing Mourinho’s Chelsea when he was still coaching. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, it was always a big game that decided the championship at times with Manchester United also in the picture, but his rivalry was always with the club and not managers.
Wenger added that he had a lot of feuds with Mourinho at the time because he felt Chelsea kept spending money they weren’t earning.
His words, “Well, basically I would say it is always a big game, a game that decides the championship and, at the time, it was more Man United and Chelsea as well,”
“But, my rivalry was always with the clubs than with the person [manager], I never made any statements on a personal level.”
“I had a lot of aggravations with Mourinho at the time because I felt that Chelsea were the first club that came in and spent money they didn’t earn.”
