I Know I’m Still In Jurgen Klopp’s Plans – Andrew Robertson

zkloppagaAndrew Robertson said he had talked to Jurgen Klopp about his lack of game time and been told he remains part of the manager’s first-team plans.

“Of course it’s difficult. I don’t make any secret of it, I hate not playing,” Scotland international Robertson said.

“It’s been a very frustrating three months for me, but I spoke to the manager as I felt as if the settling-in period was over and thought I was ready to play.

“I felt I did myself justice in the games I did play, so I had a good chat with him. He gave me a few points to work on, so that’s kept me going.

“I know I’m still in his plans and, if I work on the things he’s asked me to, hopefully I’ll be in the first team or closer to it.”

Robertson played in Scotland’s friendly defeat to Netherlands last week and said: “I was delighted to get 90 minutes. I was a bit rusty and it maybe caught up with me in the last 20 minutes.

“How do I cope with this? That’s a hard one. Maybe I can’t answer that right now as I’ve not cracked it yet.

“I’ve not been used to it. In the past five years my rise has been good. If I can keep doing what I’m doing then I hope my chance will come.”
