Hertha midfielder, Kevin-Prince Boateng has come out to say that he nearly joined Manchester United from AC Milan in 2013. He, however, revealed that he eventually decided to join Schalke instead.

According to him, despite having the opportunity to move to Manchester United, he chose Schalke in the end and it ended up being a wrong decision.
KPB added that his stint at Milan made him a more intelligent footballer because he played with stars and learnt from them.
His words, “I had the opportunity to move to Manchester United. I chose Germany – you saw what happened to me at Schalke.”
On his move to Italy, “At some point I became intelligent. It started with Milan. I played with world stars and learned something from everyone.”
On leaving Hertha, “I was 20 years old, a regular – it was all good. I was at home, my family was here,”
“I should have stayed here for another two or three years, then maybe I would have become a German national player.”
