In light of his recent victory at the governorship election tribunal, Abia State Governor Alex Otti has pledged to serve the people of his state with renewed vigour and dedication.
This is despite his claim that he was never worried about the legal challenges to his election victory on March 18, 2023.
After the election petition tribunal in Umuahia dismissed the cases brought against him by PDP and APC candidates Okey Ahaiwe and Ikechi Emenike, Otti delivered a message in which he made this claim.

Mr Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti’s Special Adviser on media and publicity, released a statement on his behalf, which read in part: “Even though we never entertained any atom of fear over the suit filed against us, going by the landslide victory we recorded at the polls, coupled with the sound submissions made by our team of erudite lawyers to defend our victory, I was, however, moved by the unprecedented show of love, support, and solidarity from our people which is a
In addition, Otti thanked the judges for their fair decisions, which he said were reflective of the election results and the true expectations of the majority of voters. He argued that doing right by the deserving strengthens democracy and adds to the body of legal jurisprudence.
He urged his detractors to take the verdict in stride and work along with him for the betterment of the state.
The Governor of Abia State further stated that he will strive to improve the lives of all Abians, regardless of their affiliation with any political party.
