I Never Said I Wanted De Ligt To Stay At Bayern Munich – Kompany

Bayern Munich manager, Vincent Kompany has come out to react to a report that claimed he told Matthijs de Ligt he did not want him to be sold to Manchester United. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.

According to him, the report should be ignored because he definitely did not say something like that, and such a statement does not even fit with his plans for his squad.

Kompany added that it would have been very stupid of him to utter such to a player he was willing to let go of.

His words, “I definitely didn’t say it. It would be so stupid of me to say something like that. That doesn’t fit with what we’re planning on doing in the squad.”

The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992, beating Nottingham Forest 1–0 in the second to win that competition for the first time as well.
