Popular singer Simi has come out to beg Nigerians to stop referring to her daughter as Duduke. She recently had her say during an interview with media personality VJ Adams, and fans have been reacting.
According to her, Duduke cannot be her daughter’s name because it doesn’t even mean anything, and she only used the word in her popular motherhood song to describe how her heart was beating.

Simi added that even though she tries to avoid reacting when people call her baby by a different name, it’s not a nice feeling.
Her words, “Some people call my daughter Duduke, which I don’t like. That’s not her name. It doesn’t mean anything. Assuming it even means something good like blessing… but Duduke doesn’t mean anything. It’s just a beat — that’s what I meant. My heartbeat like a drum.
I try not to react too much to that, but stop calling my child Duduke.”
WOW.
