Veteran Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola has hailed his colleague, Odunlade Adekola. He recently had his say via a lengthy post on his social media page, and fans have been reacting.
Revealing that he had to travel months before filming was scheduled for Odunlade’s movie “Olori Ogun,” Muyiwa praised Adekola for trusting him to return just in time for the job.

The “Ori” crooner added that even though his health failed him when he arrived on set, he brushed his medical struggles aside to embody his character and repay the faith his colleague showed during his trip to Canada.
His words, “AN ODE TO ODUNLADE ADEKOLA.
This is a bit profound. It is deep and personal but I need to share it. Please, read with your heart 🙏🏾.
My amazing brother; Odun told me about OLORI OGUN in December, 2024. Filming was scheduled for Feb, 2025. All preparations made. Pre production started in top gear then an impromptu but ultimately important trip popped up for me. I had to be in Canada by Jan, so I gave Odun my word that I would be back for the job by God’s Grace.
Filming started. Odun’s co star was far away in Canada instead of being around to acclimatize himself with the character. Speculations began to emerge that I wouldn’t be back on time or for the job. But Odun held on to my words of honor. Several weeks to filming, after managing several hiccups my absence caused and several mendings from the entire team, I arrived.
I was in costumes for my very first scene. Got prepped for my first appearance in the film… alas, I started feeling dizzy, weak, my hands were shakky … sweats all over me in an space, my legs couldn’t carry me again, I leaned on a wall (the posted pix) my PA gave me a chair, I felt like I should be n*ked, it was like even my skin was preventing air from reaching me.
Then I was fading off, I was about to collapse when Odun noticed and quickly came, he held onto me quickly told someone to come with a mat. I laid flat, helplessly, I couldn’t talk, couldn’t coordinate a thing. I was hearing people’s voices from afar.
They’ve been panicking. I beckoned to Oloyo; my PA he sat beside me, wanted to tell him to call my wife but I was too weak to… I faded off!
Knock Off Duration: Unknown! Maybe hours! When I came by, Odun and the crew arranged for me to be taken to the hospital, I declined.
I said I was ready for work, Odun, the crew, elders on set insisted I shouldn’t work, I argued it was just heat wave as I just arrived from Canada, a very cold region but I lied!
Fortunately, my first scene has no lines… I was just there, shaking… I was in pains, hid my tears, try to be like the character I played. After each cut, they would offer my chair to sit, I was managed like a toddler.
Odun asked me one on one to go take care of myself, I told him I was fine BUT I WAS NEVER FINE TILL I FINISHED THE JOB!
My doctors said I wasn’t fit for the job but I turned deaf ear, my family threatened to call Odun and elders like Oga Bello but I persuaded them against it.
For Odun to have such trust in me, I should have such in myself, for Odun to risk waiting for so much time and still agree that I carry on with the role on a job he has invested hundreds of millions , I concluded that it would be better to quench on that job than for me to destroy the trust/responsibility he bestowed me and quit like a coward .
Guys, I self medicated till we wrapped the production of OLORI OGUN. I risked it all but I am proud of the job we did! PROUD OF ODUN AND PROUD OF MYSELF!
I just want to use this medium to publicly appreciate @odunomoadekola for being so amazing in handling the situation and for restoring in me the urge and faith to push for excellence. Love you dearly bro. Thank You.
And to the entire crew and co actors, thank you for giving me those shoulders to lean on when I was weak. Love and appreciate you all.
Beloved, OLORI OGUN is trending on @kava.tv
Please watch to say THANK YOU TO ODUN for me”
