Popular singer, Tems has come out to say that she felt she could do better on her “Essence.” song with Wizkid. She recently revealed this on The Dotty Show on Apple Music 1, and Nigerians have been reacting.
According to her, on the day of recording, she felt she could’ve given more and even asked for the beat again to record a new verse.
Tems added that Wizkid’s team eventually said her first work was fine but she still felt unsatisfied because she used to be a perfectionist.
Her words, “Even (on) the day I recorded (my verse on the song), I felt I could do better. I asked them to send me the beat again so I could redo my verse but they (Wizkid’s team) said it was great. I told them I still wanted to ‘top it’ but they did not let me. However, I was happy with it. I always like to challenge myself and I used to be such a perfectionist. Wizkid also said he liked it.”
