Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has said he wants Leroy Sane to stay at the Etihad Stadium but he would speak to the club if the German requests for a transfer.
Sane joined City from Schalke in 2016 and has spent 3 seasons at the club.
Thus far, he has lifted six major trophies with City, including two league titles, even if he rarely played last season.
Pep fielded Raheem Sterling and Bernardo Silva more, which has led to reports that he might be set to leave the club.
Pep has now said he only wants players that want to say.
His words, “What [director of football] Txiki [Begiristain] sent me two or three weeks ago, [told him] it [a contract agreement] was quite close. Now it’s not. Now it’s a bit different. That’s where it is,”
“I’m not aware of the rumours. I want players who want to stay. The player didn’t tell me anything, that’s the reality.
“If he knocks on the door and says he wants to leave then we will speak with the club. We want him to stay here because we try to extend the contract for more than a year.”
On the transfer business in store for the PL champions, he said, “[There could be a] few in and out.”
