Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has said that his team should have beaten Liverpool at Anfield last season. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, his players have to prove once again that they can compete with the best teams in the league by turning up their performances at a dangerous stadium.

Amorim added that MUFC players must fight to be on the same level as Liverpool in the near future.
“Yeah, I remember it, we played well, it was a draw. I was really upset in the end of the game because we proved, on that day, that we can compete against any opponents. I know that it’s special for our club. I know that they are fighting all the time for the titles, the number of titles. I know what it means to the fans, but again, it’s one game that we need to prove again, that we are playing better. I think we are playing better. We need to do better in both boxes. So, it’s one more game that we need to win.
Sometimes, things change really fast but, if you see the history of both clubs, you can feel that sometimes you have one club that is winning, winning, winning, the other club is having a bad moment. That happened with Liverpool, when Manchester United was winning everything, and that happened with United, when Liverpool was winning everything. So, we just have to acknowledge that, to be really honest with the fans.
But we can win any game, so if we think about just winning the next game, that is the most important thing. We can win the next game. If we are going to fight to be at the same level as Liverpool in the future, that is the idea. I don’t know how long it is going to take.”
WOW.
Manchester United Football Club, commonly referred to as Man United or simply United, is a professional football club based in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. The club competes in the Premier League, the top division in the English football league system.
Nicknamed the Red Devils, they were founded as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878, but changed their name to Manchester United in 1902. After a spell playing in Clayton, Manchester, the club moved to their current stadium, Old Trafford, in 1910.
Alex Ferguson and his assistant Archie Knox arrived from Aberdeen on the day of Atkinson’s dismissal, and guided the club to an 11th-place finish in the league. Despite a second-place finish in 1987–88, the club was back in 11th place the following season. Reportedly on the verge of being dismissed, Ferguson’s job was saved by victory over Crystal Palace in the 1990 FA Cup final.
The following season, Manchester United claimed their first UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup title. That triumph allowed the club to compete in the European Super Cup for the first time, where United beat European Cup holders Red Star Belgrade 1–0 at Old Trafford. The club appeared in two consecutive League Cup finals in 1991 and 1992 the left and the right, but he’s not got any sense of danger yet, and empties the midfield area too readily.
