Current Lagos State governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has hailed Babajide Sanwo-Olu for emerging victorious in the state’s governorship election.
Despite talks of the contest being a tight one before the elections yesterday, Babajide Sanwo-Olu gave his rival, Jimi Agbaje a 533,304 votes gap.
Few minutes after Sanwo was declard winner by INEC, Ambode came out to hail his successor and upcoming Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat.
On Twitter, he said, “Hearty congratulations to the Lagos State Governor-Elect, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat.
“This is a victory for continuity in governance, victory for the APC and victory for all Lagosians. I wish them a successful term in office.”
