    I Wish I Left Burnley When They Are Further Up The Table – Chris Wood

    New Newcastle signing, Chris Wood has come out to say that he couldn’t turn the club down. He recently had his say while speaking with the press, and fans have been reacting.

    According to him, it was a massive opportunity he had to succumb to even if it was an easy decision to leave Burnley.

    Chris Wood added that he still wishes he had left Burnley when the club was further up the table.

    His words, “This is massive opportunity and club, and something I couldn’t turn down,”

    “It wasn’t an easy decision,”

    “I spent four and a half great years [at Burnley]. Every single year I really enjoyed myself there. My team-mates, the staff, the club as a whole was fantastic.”

    “To be honest, I wish I’d left when Burnley were further up the league, but that’s just how football is sometimes.”

    “For me, there was no bad blood at all. I enjoyed my time there.”
