Manchester United striker, Anthony Martial has talked about how frustrated he was after Jose Mourinho repeatedly criticized him for his performances as a player.
Martial has said most of the things the current Spurs boss said to the press while he was Man Utd manager angered him.
According to him, he would’ve loved for his manager to speak to him in private because doing otherwise has a way of affecting a player negatively.
He added that he simply moved on from the comments and focused on proving him wrong on the pitch.
His words, “It’s true that I’d have preferred it if he’d told me directly, there’s no need to say it in front of everybody. After that, you definitely want to prove him wrong,”
“He didn’t start me during the first few games and each time I came on, I scored. In the end, he told me: ‘You see, now you understand what I wanted’.
“It can get to you. You just want to show him you deserve to be on the pitch.”
