Super Eagles goalkeepers’ trainer, Ike Shorunmu is excited that national team player Brown Ideye is back to his full potentials at West Brom after he was being criticized by fans of the English Premier League side that he was not living up to his £10 million transfer fees.
.
“I feel excited seeing these young boys doing well in their clubs and to be honest with you, Ideye will now have a relaxed mind to play and with time, he will even do more than the coach expects from him. It is good he has started scoring and with that, his confidence will grow”, says Shorunmu.
.
Ideye’s third and fourth goals in a week helped the Baggies to their first FA Cup quarter-final since 2008 with a crushing 4-0 win against West Ham.
.
“Definitely, everyone in the club will be happy with him and when you see people around you showing you that kind of gesture, you will be motivated to do more. I can only encourage him to keep doing his best and have confidence in himself that he can do it. For him to have been transferred with that amount, it means he has the quality and he should utilize it to the advantage of the club.
.
It would be recalled that Ideye was close to being transferred out of England to Qatar-based Al-Gharafa on the last day of transfer window recently but destiny did not allow the deal to work out despite pressure from Coach Tony Pulis to off load the Nigeria international.
