Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, has promised Nigerians that he will be the first to challenge President Bola Tinubu if the latter fails to fulfil his campaign promises.
However, Fayose said he has always talked well of the president after meeting with Tinubu on Thursday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The ex-governor is confident that the present administration will provide the kind of leadership that the Nigerian people want.
He has faith in the President’s good intentions because of what he has seen Tinubu do since the government took office on May 29.
He told the press, “Let me say to you, ladies and gentlemen of the press, let me tell you, if Asiwaju reverses back on his promise, what he made when he was campaigning, I would be the first to talk. I am not a coward and I do not shrink from adversity.
But the man I saw today is not someone I would eulogise or praise in order to win favour; I am no longer a young kid. What I witnessed today and what we’ve seen so far bodes good for Nigeria, I can assure you of that.
