Focus on increased support for the Channel to target SMB and Public Sector
Reading, UK. August 10th, 2015 – IGEL Technology today announced the appointment of Steve Weston to accelerate its thin client business in Southern England. Steve, who joined IGEL as a Business Management graduate in 2013, will focus on working with new and existing channel partners to meet the growing demand from small and medium sized businesses and the Public Sector for centrally managed and versatile desktops solutions.
IGEL Technology, the fastest growing of the top 5 thin and zero client manufacturers in the UK in 2014 with hardware shipments rising 56% year-on-year, expects to see significant growth in the South from organisations looking to simplify their IT desktop management and make cost savings. In addition, Steve believes there is a great opportunity to assist the many housing associations that have previously relied on Oracle’s no longer supported Sun Ray zero clients, to be transitioned to IGEL thin clients.
“There has never been a better time to put IGEL thin clients on business desktops,” said Steve Weston, IGEL Technology Regional Manager for Southern England. “For organisations looking to introduce Microsoft Office 365, cloud hosted desktops or to effectively secure and manage their laptops there is an IGEL solution for you. As the only major, dedicated thin and zero client manufacturer, IGEL offers a range of Universal Desktop open architecture thin and zero clients that allow customers to take advantage of the best back-end IT infrastructure for their business – whether its cloud, virtual or server-based computing.”
“In addition, IGEL’s Universal Desktop Converter 2 (UDC2) software, which is used to convert old PCs, notebooks and thin clients into IGEL-like devices is increasingly being used to provide businesses with an easy and cost effective entry into server-based or virtualized desktop computing.”
Using UDC2 software, businesses can cost effectively extend the life of their current desktops to deliver a Cloud or Server-Based Computing architecture and produce a shorter return on investment when migrating to a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment.
New channel partners interested in selling IGEL Technology solutions should contact Steve at 01183 403421 or weston@igel.com.
