Leicester City boss, Brendan Rodgers has said he feels Kelechi Iheanacho should’ve won his team a penalty in their 2-1 League Cup defeat vs Aston Villa yesterday night.
Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings tackled the Nigerian in the box in the opening 10 minutes of the match but Kelechi managed to remain on his feet, a decision Brendan was not happy with.
According to him, the loss was unfortunate because his boys started the game very well.
His words, “I thought we started the game very well,”
“We might have had a penalty if Kelechi [Iheanacho] goes down in that first 10 minutes when Tyrone Mings is coming back at him.”
Iheanacho currently has eight goals in 13 matches across all competitions.
Leicester City take on Chelsea in their next Premier League game on Saturday.
