Ijaw leader Edwin Clark has expressed his dissatisfaction with the eight-point resolution released on Monday aimed at resolving the political crisis in Rivers State, describing it as one-sided and unacceptable.
The resolution was reached following a meeting between President Bola Tinubu, other stakeholders, Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara, and his immediate predecessor, Nyesom Wike, to address the ongoing face-off between the two political figures.
Key points of the resolution included the withdrawal of all court cases initiated by Governor Fubara against Wike and his team, as well as a directive for state lawmakers loyal to Wike to cease any impeachment efforts against Fubara.

However, Edwin Clark, an elder statesman, criticized the resolution, alleging that it was designed to hand over the political leadership of the state to Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Clark further claimed that the terms of the resolution indicated that Tinubu, in his role as a mediator, was showing gratitude to Wike for delivering Rivers State to him during the last presidential elections.
“We will resist any attempt to make an elected Ijaw son, Siminialayi Fubara, the Governor of Rivers State, a servant, a stooge to Nyesom Wike,” Clark stated.
He vowed to use legal means to challenge the resolution, urging aggrieved youths to remain calm.
Clark concluded by asserting his intention to pursue legal avenues to challenge what he termed as “oppression,” emphasizing his determination to resist any attempts to impose unfavorable conditions on the state’s leadership.
