Neymar has come out to deny a sexual assault allegation made by a former employee. Recall that the Brazilian was recently dropped from his sponsorship deal by sportswear giant Nike because he refused to cooperate with an investigation to resolve the allegation.

According to Neymar, he’ll keep defending himself against baseless attacks in case any claim is presented, and that has not happened so far.

He added that the recent allegation is a strange case that was supposed to have happened in 2016, and it is similar to one which Brazilian authorities found him innocent for years back.

His words, “Neymar Jr. will vigorously defend himself against these baseless attacks in case any claim is presented, which did not happen so far.”

“It is very strange a case that was supposed to have happened in 2016, with allegations by a Nike employee, come to light only at that moment.”

“Similar to the sexual assault allegations made against him in 2019 – allegations which the Brazilian authorities found Neymar Jr. innocent – these allegations are false.”
