Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has shut down talk of an immediate return to the German national team after his retirement. He recently revealed that retiring was a conscious decision by him, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he had a very successful period as the goalkeeper of the German national team, and he is not even considering a return at this point.

Neuer added that he had been in goal for Germany since 2009, therefore he bowed out at the right time.
His words, “First of all, I wasn’t asked. It was a conscious decision on my part to leave the national team and retire. So it’s not even an option for me.
I had a very successful and enjoyable time, and I’m not currently thinking at all about whether and how I could return to the national team.
I have been with the team since 2009, and with the European Championship, it was a nice conclusion. I think I got a lot out of German football and maybe also gave German football a little something.”
WOW.
