I’m Not Going To Talk About My Future Now – Courtois

Thibaut Courtois UCLThibaut Courtois has said his two Madrid-based children are the most important consideration when deciding his future.

Chelsea goalkeeper Courtois, who played for Atletico Madrid on loan, has regularly been linked with Real Madrid.

After his quick throw began the stoppage-time counter-attack that brought Belgium a 3-2 World Cup win over Japan on Monday, the 26-year-old told “El Partidazo” radio show that he would not think about his future until after the tournament.

“I’m not going to talk about that now,” Courtois, who has a year left on his Chelsea contract, said.

“The only thing I have always said is that after the World Cup I will look at everything. The most important thing for me is my children, and I will make the best decision for me in everything.”

In February, Courtois said he was happy at Chelsea but would talk to Real Madrid were they to make contact over a move.
Madrid, also linked with Roma’s Allison, have already signed 19-year-old keeper Andriy Lunin for a reported initial €8.5 million, although he is not expected to go straight into the first team.

Former Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane backed current No. 1 Keylor Navas, but the Costa Rica international’s long-term future looks less certain under new boss Julen Lopetegui following the exit of goalkeeping coach and ally Luis Llopis to Real Sociedad.
