Brighton manager, Roberto De Zerbi has come out to reveal his shock at Kaoru Mitoma’s inclusion in Japan’s Asia Cup squad. This is coming while the Japanese forward is sidelined with an injury for his club, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he is very surprised by the call-up from the Japanese national team because Brighton medical team already told him the forward would be out for around 4-6 weeks.

De Zerbi added that it will be hard for Mitoma to play in the Asia Cup when the tournament kicks off.
His words, “Yes I am very surprised because my medical staff told me Mitoma would need 4-6 weeks about his injuries.
It’s difficult to think that he can play in the Asia Cup but I am a fan of Mitoma, of all my players, so if they can play for their national team I am proud.”
