The Imo State House of Assembly has confirmed all the commissioner nominees on the list sent by Governor Hope Uzodinma for ratification and confirmation.
The confirmation took place on Thursday, with the Assembly approving the nominations of several former commissioners and new appointees.
Among those confirmed are Declan Emelumba, the immediate past commissioner for information and strategy; Ralph Nwosu, the immediate past commissioner for works; and Chimezie Amadi, the immediate past commissioner of digital economy and e-government.

Other confirmed nominees include Lady Nkechi Ugwu, Anselm Anyanwu, Dr. Chika Abazu, Modestus Osakwe, Cosmos Maduba, Major Emenike, and Obinna Onyeocha-Everistus.
According to the Clerk of the House of Assembly, Mrs. Chinelo Emeghara, 12 names were forwarded by the governor for screening in the first batch, with four more names expected for consideration.
Governor Uzodinma dissolved his cabinet on January 16, 2024, the day after his inauguration on January 15, 2024, leading to the nomination and confirmation process for a new set of commissioners.
