In a recent development within the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, the esteemed Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, has emphatically emphasized the importance of exemplary leadership qualities among the 15 recently appointed Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of various parastatals and agencies under the ministry.
The call to action transpired during the formal inauguration ceremony that marked the official assumption of duties by the newly appointed CEOs. Infostride News learned that Minister Uzoka-Anite underscored the critical nature of these appointments in the context of realizing President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda. The minister urged the CEOs to align their policies with the overarching goals of the ministry, thereby contributing significantly to the attainment of the national agenda.
One of the key directives imparted by Minister Uzoka-Anite was the insistence on maintaining a zero-tolerance policy towards corruption within their respective agencies. She affirmed that the activities of the CEOs would be closely monitored and assessed to ensure compliance with ethical standards and the principles of good governance.

Adding to the minister’s directives, Evelyn Ngige, the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, offered additional guidance to the newly appointed CEOs. Ngige advised them to familiarize themselves with the intricacies of public service rules and regulations, providing a solid foundation for their operational decisions. Stressing the importance of a renewed commitment to their mandates, she encouraged the CEOs to study legal and administrative instruments relevant to their agencies, thereby understanding the limits of their power, duties, and authority.
In a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities bestowed upon the CEOs, Ngige urged them to keep abreast of various regulatory frameworks, including the public service rules, financial regulations, public service handbook, guidelines for promotion and discipline, and the public procurement Act, among others.
Additionally, Ngige highlighted the significance of cultivating positive working relationships with their respective boards and the ministry. She stressed the importance of sustaining industrial harmony within their establishments and upholding the highest ethical standards to foster a conducive working environment.
Baba Alkali, the Director of Policy, Planning, Research, and Statistics, also contributed to the discourse by urging the newly appointed CEOs to work diligently towards actualizing the present administration’s renewed hope. He emphasized the swift and effective implementation of government policies, underscoring the Ministry’s expectations of a substantial and impactful contribution from the CEOs.
The pinnacle of the inauguration event was marked by the administration of the oath of office to the 15 CEOs by the Director of Legal in the Ministry. Among the distinguished group of CEOs inaugurated was Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, who holds the position of Registrar-General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
