The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued certificates of return to 16 members-elect of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
This follows the nullification of the March 18 elections results by the Court of Appeal, which declared the newly issued members as the rightful winners.
Out of the 16 members-elect, 15 belong to the All Progressives Congress (APC), while one is from the Labour Party.

Dr. Oliver Agundu, the Plateau INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), confirmed that the issuance of certificates was in compliance with the Appeal Court’s directive.
Dr. Agundu congratulated the lawmakers-elect on their victory and wished them success as they assume their roles in serving the state.
Chief Rufus Bature, the APC State Chairman, hailed the Appeal Court’s decision, emphasizing its positive impact on Nigeria’s democratic process.
He urged the newly elected lawmakers to prioritize the interests of Plateau State and exhibit magnanimity in their victory.
Mr. Sunday Naah, the member-elect for Jos North West, expressed his awareness of the high expectations placed on him by his constituents.
He pledged to dedicate himself to the development of his constituency and the state, promising to enact laws that would alleviate the challenges faced by the people of Jos North West Constituency.
