14 newly-appointed Resident Electoral Commissioners (REC) were sworn in by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday, July 7, 2017.
Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo approved their appointment on Thursday, June 29.
The new appointees that were sworn in are: Hussaini Pai (Abuja), Godwill Obioma (Abia), James Apam (Benue), Nwachukwu Orji (Ebonyi), Iloh Chuks (Enugu), Nentawe Yilwatda (Plateau), Umar Ibrahim (Taraba), Emeka Joseph (Imo), Obo Effanga (Cross River), Francis Ezeounu (Anambra), Briyai Frankland (Bayelsa), Ibrahim Abdullahi (Adamawa), Agboke Olaleke (Ogun) and Ahmad Makama (Bauchi).
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted by INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
All appointees have a five-year renewable tenure with the commission.
