The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has successfully uploaded over 73.67% of the results from the Edo State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
According to reports, 3,329 results out of the 4,519 polling units where elections were held in the state have already been transmitted.
This follows earlier assurances by Anugbum Onuoha, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Edo State, that results from the governorship election would be transmitted electronically.

Speaking in an interview on Arise Television on Saturday, Onuoha emphasised that only technical issues, such as poor network coverage, could delay the transmission of results to the IReV platform.
“We have trained the operators for the BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System).
They are set. BVAS is to accredit the voters, to know the total number of voters that will vote at that level, that polling unit,” Onuoha stated during the interview.
He further explained that once the accreditation process is completed, voting would commence. At the conclusion of voting, the results would be counted and immediately uploaded to the IReV portal.
“At the end of the day, they will count the results, and it will be uploaded to our IReV,” Onuoha assured.
The Edo governorship election has drawn significant attention, with voters and stakeholders keeping a close watch on the outcome as INEC continues to upload the remaining results from polling units across the state.
