The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) has urged for a review of the prices of expression of interest and nomination forms charged by political parties.
This call was made by IPAC Chairman, Yusuf Dantalle, during the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) second regular quarterly consultative meeting with political parties.
Dantalle condemned the politics of bitterness, divisive tendencies, and the do-or-die mentality, noting that such attitudes could undermine Nigeria’s emerging democracy.

He emphasized the importance of politicians adhering to democratic ideals, ethics, and ethos, while avoiding inflammatory remarks and actions that could hinder the country’s constitutional government.
Dantalle also highlighted the need for a review of the high cost of expression of interest and nomination fees imposed by some political parties. He stated that while these fees are internal affairs of the parties, they should be reconsidered.
IPAC pledged to continue engaging with party leaders to address issues such as candidate imposition and enhance internal democracy, in efforts to contribute to Nigeria’s progress.
