The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), on Sunday said its members had no such plans to explore a nationwide strike in February.
.
Its National President, Alhaji Abdulkadir Aminu, made the statement that was issued in Lagos and made available to the public.
.
The statement was signed by IPMAN’s National Secretary, Mr Mike Osatuyi.
.
According to Aminu, the association has no issue with government that will prompt its embarking on any strike.
.
“I appeal to Nigerians and all marketers to go ahead with their normal business and avoid creating panic in the society,” he was quoted as saying.
.
Aminu acknowledged the problem the Mosinmi Chapter of IPMAN was having with the Ogun Government over the dilapidated nature of Sagamu- Mosimi road, but said it was not enough reason to go on a national strike.
.
“I understand the havoc that the road is causing my members in Mosinmi but I do not think strike should be the solution,” the IPMAN president said.
.
He therefore urged members of the branch to exercise patience and allow the national leadership to conclude discussions with the state government on the matter.
