Lil Wayne has finally released his long-awaited album ‘Tha Carter V.’
The 23 track record features artists like the late XXXTentacion, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, his daughter Regina Carter, Sampha, Snoop Dogg, and more was released in the early hours of Friday, September 28, 2018.
Producers who worked with him on the album include Swizz Beatz, Metro Boomin, Mannie Fresh, Zaytoven, DJ Mustard, Dr. Dre, among others.
Wayne’s mother, Jacida Carter, appears throughout the album, while the track “Dedicate” ends with a sample of Barack Obama talking about Wayne.
‘Tha Carter V’, which is rumoured to be Lil Wayne’s last album was first mentioned by the rapper far back in July 2012, with his fans excited that the album would likely arrive the following year.
The album however failed to arrive and as the year went by, Lil Wayne got involved in a number of legal drama, health issues and fell out with former label boss, Birdman, that saw him shift his attention to other projects like ”I Am Not a Human Being” released in 2013, the ”Dedication” series and a number of other collaborative efforts.
The fifth installment of the Wayne series, that began in 2014 is now out, on the same day he celebrates his 36th birthday.
