Come to Hall 4.1A at Stand no. 202 and see the technology that is already being used in Slovenia’s largest infrastructure project – GSM-R, worth around €140 million
Berlin, Germany, and Kranj, Slovenia 18 September 2014 Iskratel, a European leader in InfoCommunications, will showcase its integrated InfoCommunication solutions for railways at InnoTrans 2014.
The solution, which provides business and operational communications on a single unified platform, brings numerous benefits to its customers, including reduced investment and maintenance costs by eliminating the requirement for several different solutions.
Iskratel is currently implementing the solution in Slovenia after winning the tender for the project ‘Introduction of digital radio system (GSM-R) on the Slovenian rail network’. Iskratel is a leading partner in the consortium and is managing the execution of the entire project.
“Our integrated InfoCommunications solution for railways is already widely used and well-thought of by both our existing partners and some of the largest railways in East and West Europe. We are extremely proud to be bringing it to InnoTrans 2014 and look forward to meeting with both existing and new customers,” said Kristijan Melinc, Director of Business Communications at Iskratel.
Iskratel, which has 65 years of experience and its own research and development and manufacturing teams, has also seen its solutions for operational and technological communications used in many Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, where traditional legacy systems have been bridged with next generation IP platforms.
The bridging of legacy and specialized communications to the IP platform delivers an overall improvement in network robustness and enables new applications with additional value. Meanwhile, Iskratel’s integration of video surveillance boosts security and its multipurpose dispatching system provides a single point of control.
“IP based InfoCommunications provide a future-proof backbone which can be modified and upgraded according to future needs, with the first step being integration of information and notification systems, video conferencing and surveillance with operational communications,” added Melinc.
Innotrans, one of the world’s biggest railways exhibitions, will take place at the Messe Berlin, in Berlin, Germany, from Tuesday, September 23 to Friday, September 26.
