The Presidency has requested that the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, extend his congratulations to President Bola Tinubu on his victory in the presidential election held on February 25.
Bayo Onanuga, who serves as a Special Adviser on Information and Strategy for Tinubu, made the remark in response to the decision of the Supreme Court to rule against Atiku.
In a post on X, Onanuga emphasized that Atiku has been unsuccessful in his attempt to unseat Tinubu and win the election for president of Nigeria.

It has been decided by the Supreme Court that the so-called new evidence presented by Atiku violates both the Electoral Act and the Constitution. The PDP presidential contender is out of options at this point. The Waziri needs to send his long-overdue congratulations to his longtime buddy as soon as possible.
According to InfoStride News, the Supreme Court rejected Atiku’s challenge on Thursday, which questioned Tinubu’s victory in the election.
After finding in favor of the respondents on all seven of the points that were up for judgment, the seven-person panel decided to dismiss the appeal on the grounds that it lacked any merit.
After that, Justice John Okoro, who had read the lead judgment, affirmed the verdict of the presidential election tribunal, which had, on September 6, affirmed Tinubu’s election as President. Okoro had read the lead judgment.
This appeal is being rejected because, taken as a whole, it lacks merit and cannot be upheld.
According to Okoro’s ruling, “the judgment of the court below is hereby affirmed.”
The apex court also decided not to accept new evidence from Atiku to prove that Tinubu fabricated the academic degree he presented to INEC for the 2023 presidential election. Atiku provided the material in an attempt to show that Tinubu forged the certificate.
