When it comes to Adele or Janet Jackson, Grammy-winning music producer Jimmy Jam says it’s not so hard for him to make a choice.
Jam tells TMZ camera man outside the Staples Center on November 30 that even though he has a ton of respect for Adele and the record-breaking success of her new album, ’25’, it shouldn’t be mistaken where his loyalties truly lie.
When the reporter asked what he thinks about Adele crushing Janet’s comback album and Britney Spears’ records as best and fastest selling female solo artist, Jam said “I like Adele and think she has a powerful voice and every time music is selling, it’s a great thing and a success to my business.”
When asked if it’s over for Janet, he replied, “over? Are you kidding me? It’s just getting started.” the camera man later probed, “do you think she[Janet] could catch up with Adele’s sales record?”
“I don’t think it’s about sales. It’s about career. Let’s see if she can catch up with Janet’s career,” he answered. “Adele is what? 5 years now? Let’s see of she can catch up with Janet’s career… Janet has been on stage since she was a little girl with Michael and the brothers. I love Adele but com’on let’s not compare.” he added.
