The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has been appointed by President Goodluck Jonathan as the National Amirul Hajj, who will lead the 23-member Federal Government delegation to this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued by Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Sam Nwaobasi, in Abuja, on Monday.
The statement listed other members of the delegation as: Senator Bello Tukur,; Alhaji Ismaila Gadaka, Hon. Justice Tajudeen Ariwoola, Dr. Nurudeen Mohammed and the Emir of Suleja, Muhammed Auwal Ibrahim.
Also in the team are, Oba Aderemi Adedapo, Alh. Adbullahi Akinbode, Alkali Abubakar Shettima(retd.), Dr. Khadija Tukur, Mr. Nuumanu Bamalli, Alhaji Sani Dauda, and Hon. Adamu Bulkachuwa, among others.
