The Nasarawa State chapter of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced that May 10 has been set aside for President Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to the state to receive new members into the party at a rally in Lafia, the state capital.
The state PDP publicity secretary, Mark Yohanna Neto, who made this known yesterday, explained that the date was communicated to the Nasarawa chapter of the party from the national office.
Neto stated that the visit was arranged for President Jonathan to receive those who decamped to the party, including Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura’s deputy, Dameshi Barau Luka, as well as federal lawmakers –Senator Solomon Ewuga (PDP, Nasarawa-North), Rep Joseph Haruna Kigbu (PDP, Lafia/Obi), Rep David Ombugadu (PDP, Akwanga/Nasarawa-Eggon/Wamba), and Rep Ishaq Kana (PDP, Keffi/Kokona/Karu) among others, who defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) recently.
He noted that all was set for the Nasarawa State chapter of PDP to receive the president on that day.
