Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been ruled out of Monday night’s game at Leicester City with a foot injury, a source has said.
Henderson has not travelled to the King Power Stadium after picking up the injury in training on Friday.
However, manager Jurgen Klopp will not be without the midfielder for long after a scan showed there was no broken bone in his foot.
Lucas Leiva or Emre Can could deputise against the managerless champions, who slipped into the Premier League relegation zone after Crystal Palace beat Sunderland on Saturday.
Henderson, who has been one of Liverpool’s best performers, had only missed one Premier League match this season until now.
