Jose Mourinho wants Manchester United to offer £15million to Celtic for Kieran Tierney, reports claim.
The highly-rated left-back has impressed at Celtic Park and was awarded the Young Scottish Player of the Year award last season.
United have been tracking him for some time with Mourinho a keen admirer.
And the Red Devils could make an approach for Tierney this summer.
According to the Mirror, Jose Mourinho has been watching developments closely and is ready to move.
A new left-back is not a priority at Old Trafford, but United’s interest indicates Luke Shaw’s future is still in doubt.
The England international is said to be aware the club are looking at different targets in his position.
Prising Tierney away from Celtic, though, won’t be straight forward.
The Mirror add Brendan Rodgers wants the 20-year-old to stay for at least another year.
Tierney has four years left on his current deal and has indicated his loyalty to Celtic when quizzed over his future during 2017.
But Manchester United’s interest means it will be hard for the Scottish champions to hold on to their star defender.
Red Devils scouts watched the Scotland international in action against England earlier this month and sent back glowing reports.
Arsenal are also monitoring Tierney, although Arsene Wenger has already added Sead Kolasinac this summer.
