Report from Code of Conduct Tribunal
The Chairman Code of Conduct Tribunal, Justice Danladi Yakub Umar has applauded his management team for being proactive in driving home the Tribunal’s mandates to Nigerian people.
He made the commendation yesterday, 3rd May, 2014 in Abuja, while in an interactive session with the staff of the Tribunal. The Chairman thanked the management team for their new idea of restructuring the operational mechanism of the Tribunal by establishing additional Units and Departments, to do away with redundancy amongst staff.
Justice Umar said, before now, the only functional Departments in the Tribunal are Litigation and Finance and Admin; noting that with the new expansion, Planning Research and Statistics Department was incorporated, to fast-track innovation and efficiency in line with transformation drive in the public service.
He however expressed the hope that the redesigning of schedules of duty of staff would stimulate hard work, efficiency and eliminate redundancy amongst staff.
The Chairman warned that with the new arrangement, no staff should complain of not having work schedule and as such, the Tribunal expects maximum and quality output from the staff.
“With the new restructuring and subsequent internal postings and assignments with new schedule of duties appropriate to your professional inclination, you will really enhance your skill and ensure prompt service delivery”, the Chairman said.
Later, the Tribunal Chairman gave the floor to staff to make imputs on the general activities of the office by ways of questions, complaints and advice on how best to improve the system. He assuage their fears by assuring them of being protected, in as much they are civil in their comment.
